چکیده

Stromal tumour infiltrating lymphocytes (sTILs) are a strong prognostic marker in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). Consistency scoring sTILs is good and was excellent when an internet-based aid developed by the TIL-WG used to score cases reproducibility study. This study aimed evaluate of assessment using this from routine practice explore potential tool overcome variability scoring. Twenty-three pathologists scored digitized slides 49 TNBC biopsies aid. Subsequently, fields view (FOV) each case were selected one pathologist group tool. Inter-observer agreement for absolute (ICC 0.634, 95% CI 0.539–0.735, p < 0.001) but poor fair binary cutpoints. heterogeneity main contributor disagreement. When same FOV case, inter-observer 0.798, 0.727–0.864, 20% 0.657, 0.561–0.756, 40% 0.644, 0.546–0.745, However, there wide range scores many cases. Reproducibility used. Heterogeneity variance will need be analytic validity achieved.

CORRELATION BETWEEN EXPRESSION OF CLASS I ANTIGEN AND DEVELOPMENT OF TUMOUR INFILTRATING LYMPHOCYTES (TILS) FROM TUMOUR BIOPSIES OF PATIENTS WITH BLADDER CANCER

This report presents the findings of TIL development from tumour biopsies of patients with bladder cancer. Analysis of tissue sections showed the presence of T cells in intra-epithelial layer in 8 of 12 cases investigated. In a larger group of patients, TILs were established from 7 of 20 cases and expansion of these cells in Interleukin-2 (IL-2) in the presence of conditioned medium (CM) r...

Predictive and prognostic impact of tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes in triple-negative breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy

INTRODUCTION In locally and locally advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) only induces a pCR in 30-35% of patients. Clinical and pathological factors are not enough to distinguish the patients who have no chance of a pCR or not. The tumour microenvironment is critical for cancer and tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL). Moreover, the NAC scenario is the ...

Tackling intra- and inter-tumor heterogeneity to combat triple negative breast cancer.

Rampant inter-patient and intra-tumor heterogeneity present formidable challenges in the clinical management of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and mandate a "divide-and-conquer" approach wherein deep biomarker profiling drives patient segmentation and development of customized treatments. Genomic and proteomic studies have uncovered several TNBC subtypes each of which represents a distinc...

Tumor-Infiltrating Lymphocytes in Triple Negative Breast Cancer: The Future of Immune Targeting

Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly heterogeneous tumor. There is increasing evidence of the role of tumor lymphocytic immune infiltrates in this subtype of breast cancer. Robust levels of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) have been associated with improved disease-free and overall survival rates in TNBC patients with and without any treatment. Recent efforts have been made to ...
